Today I started the first part of my trip to Cusco – probably six days of cycling. The first day was a short one – 45km from Puno to Juliaca.

Puno: floating islands and Taquile

Today I went to one of the floating islands of the Uros, and later to the island of Taquile. It was a quite long day, and I returned pretty tired.

Copacabana (Bolivia) – Puno (Peru)

Finally, on 24 March, I left Copacabana on my bicycle. I had breakfast outside in a café, talking with a tourist from Canada.

Isla del Sol – Sahuiña

On Wednesday, 20 march, while I was still waiting for my bicycle rack, I went to the Isla del Sol. I booked the trip and the accommodation in the office of the Red de Turismo Comunitario del Lago Titicaca, and I hope that this way the communities benefit a bit more.

Finally! Yesterday, as I was returning from the Isla del Sol, I received a message from DHL that I need to contact them. Once in Copacabana, I called DHL, and they told me that the parcel is ready, but that I have to pay 557.50 bolivianos (£56)!

Lake Titicaca – Copacabana

While my racks for my bicycle are on the way from London to La Paz (I hope so) I went to Copacabana on the lake Titicaca – by bus.

Statistics: more than 3000km by bicycle up to La Paz

Even though I did parts of my trip by bus, by now I did more than 3000km by bike since I left Buenos Aires. Up to San Salvador de Jujuy in the north of Argentina I did 2296km, and since Jujuy I did in total another 1194km, but this includes 365km by bus - from Yocalla to Oruro and from Patacamaya to El Alto. This means in total I did now 3125km by bicycle since Buenos Aires.
