Hay una vida con trauma - zine (in Spanish) about my process

For the last week I have been working on a zine about my process of dealing with my trauma over the last 6 1/2 years. My inspiration has been a text by Meg-John Barker in their blog about zines. And the truth is that I would have been blocked by the thought of a book or a more refined text. Making a zine was ideal for my process.

Also doing everything by hand and not typing on a computer was liberating, although in the end I had to scan everything and assemble all the pages into a PDF file. But, this was at the end, and it didn't really require creativity - the creative part was drawing and writing by hand.

If you like the zine, feel free to circulate it.

A few weeks ago I posted a call for trans* and nobinary survivors of sexual abuse to organise. Unfortunately, so far no one has contacted me. And, I still think it would be important to organise ourselves, as there are no public mental health services that respond to our specific needs. I wrote:

"Services for survivors of sexual abuse generally focus on women survivors. This is understandable, given that what exists today is the result of the feminist struggles of the last decades. When I first looked, more than six years ago, I didn't even find services for male survivors of sexual abuse. Services for trans* and non-binary people, no way.

It's time to organise, to speak out about our realities as trans* and non-binary survivors of childhood sexual abuse, and to demand care tailored to our specific realities and needs. I would like to hear from you. What has helped you in your process? What was missing? What do we need?"

Perhaps this zine could also be the start of a project to share our stories and experiences. Would you like that?
